The Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) protects and restores the lands and waters of the Virginia Piedmont, while building stronger, more sustainable communities. PEC empowers residents to protect what makes the Piedmont a wonderful place, and works with community members to conserve land, improve air and water quality and build thriving communities. PEC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and accredited land trust.
We serve a nine-county region in the Piedmont of Virginia. Our region includes the following counties as well as the city of Charlottesville:
